Delay at ATM's nodes

Hello,
My question is rather a theoretical one:
I am looking for an article/paper dealing with estimating the pdf-s of the 
delays needed to cross an ATM node (Especially during the set-up).
i.e., this is the probability density function for the delay a cell 
encounters while trying to cross an ATM node (during the CAC). I need to 
know how theses pdf-s can best be approximated (e.g. an erlang pdf...).

Can someone help me here?
