Title: MBS value
Philip,

With an MBS that small, you are really only going to get the SCR value.

I am not familiar what other carriers assign the downlink MBS for, but it
seems very small.

Does anyone know that the impact of the MBS and CDVT setting as follows?  The setting is suggested by our vendor for our ADSL project.

This is an OC-3 interface with traffic shaping.

Uplink
PIR: 512K
SIR: 256K
CDVT: 17 mS
MBS: 20

Downlink
PIR = 1.5 Mbps
SIR = 768 kbps
CDVT = adjust to MBS = MBB
MBS = 1

I am worried about the MBS is too small.  Does it cause the system unstable when the interface become congestion becasue of many loss cells and re-transmission?

If CDVT is in ms, is it reasonable?

Regards
Philip
