Sounds like we may be shattering all those dreams of ATM as a panacea for everything ... I'm not sure anyone on this list (and only a few people at the ATM Forum) would claim that ATM can build global datagram internets without just a little bit of help from higher-layer protocols. > I understand your desire to stay with IP routing protocols we know work. > But look at this as an academic exercise, if you will.
