not at all sure I believe the comments about the backbone. New software,
obviously, but the things driving the other backbone changes are the need
to go to SONET (OC-mumble) as opposed to DS3, not RSVP functionality.

In the end stations and end networks, yes, I think people realize that
driving high compression takes high MIPs, and that's just the start of it.
