Miguel, Having designed and implemented quite a few MPLS-VPN networks over the past two years, I can tell you that it is working and it is a great technology. (I don't want to start a war here.... I'm not saying it is better nor the only technology....;-)) Of course, it can be prone to problems, but not a whole lot more than any reasonable size IP networks. Of course, you have to run BGP, therefore you might have BGP problems. You'll probably have to run OSPF or ISIS, so you'll probably have OSPF or ISIS problems. But all in all, I think the problems it addresses are worth the bumps you'll hurt in doing so. One thing to watch out for is the hardware....experience shows that it can be very hardware dependent.... mp ----- Message d'origine ----- De : "Miguel Teixeira" <miguel.teixeira@sosoares.pt> À : "'Sexton, Ken'" <ken.sexton@quantitude.com> Cc : <mpls-ops@mplsrc.com> Envoyé : 28 avril, 2001 16:06 Objet : RE: VPN Management > Can i ask you is it your MPLS VPN is working ? > Do you have any problems ? > Our company is going to install a MPLS VPN and i want to know about any > problems that could occur. > > MPLS FORUM : please feel free to help. > > Thank you > > > Miguel Teixeira > Portugal > miguel.teixeira@sosoares.pt > > -----Original Message----- > From: Sexton, Ken [mailto:ken.sexton@quantitude.com] > Sent: sexta-feira, 27 de Abril de 2001 10:45 > To: 'mpls-ops@mplsrc.com' > Subject: VPN Management > > > I am hoping someone out there has run into the same scenario for VPN > Management: > > We are trying to manage our MPLS VPN network via HPOV and CiscoWorks and > allow route summarization to a Management VPN. > > For each LER (with several VPNs having PE to CE connectivity) we are using a > fixed IP subnet range for PE-to-CE WAN as well as CE loopbacks. > > Every MPLS VRF (by RT) must be sent to a Management VPN where the above > management servers live in order for HPOV or CWrks to manage. > > Example: 10.0.0.0/21 (8 class Cs) used for LER#1.
