Hi,
Normally the layer 2 technologies like ATM, Ethernet, PPP
etc, would have encapsulations with the classical-MPLS
and carried with MPLS-tunnels.
GMPLS is conceived as the control plane for optical transport.
For example the lightpath established across optical transport
network using GMPLS, could carry the classical-MPLS tunnels.
Could you please eloborate your first point further.
Thanks.

Hello All, I would rather know:
-
how ATM is encapsulated in GMPLS.
-
if there are any specification to the GMPLS augmented network model?
-
if somebody could tell me something about ESCON?
Thank you very much for your help!
