Hi,

Normally the layer 2 technologies like ATM, Ethernet, PPP
etc, would have encapsulations with  the classical-MPLS
and carried with MPLS-tunnels.

GMPLS is conceived as the control plane for optical transport.

For example the lightpath established across optical transport
network using GMPLS, could carry the classical-MPLS tunnels.

Could you please eloborate your first point further.

Thanks.

Hello All, I would rather know:
  1. how ATM is encapsulated in GMPLS.
  2. if there are any specification to the GMPLS augmented network model?
  3. if somebody could tell me something about ESCON?
Thank you very much for your help!

Regards

Samuel
