Dear All,

I just wanted to know the difference between a Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPN
implementation.

As far as my understanding goes

Layer2 VPN is a virtual pipe extended between 2 sites (point to point)

Layer3 VPN provides any to any connectivity for all sites (point to
multipoint / mulitpoint to multipoint)

Am I correct in my understanding?

One more scenario is that of offering TLS (Transparent Lan service). Is
this a special case of L2 VPN?

I thank everybody in anticipation of receiving these answers

Neel
