You have a problem:

to implement the MPLS, you need at least a 3 router core:
2 PE-router
1 P-router

+2 CE-router

MPLS PE takes the incoming packet and push the label,
than, the last P does a "penultimate hop popping" by removing
the label and pass it to a PE-router as an IP packet.

So with 2 PEs only you don't have an MPLS core...

Cisco implement MPLS from 2600's family to 12000...

Oggetto: [MPLS-OPS]: Minimum Network Configuration to setup MPLS

Hi,

I am struggling to understand more about MPLS network. I am currently trying
to setup a MPLS network in my lab.

I have 4 routers, 2 Cisco 3600 series and 2 Cisco 7200 series. Am I able to
setup a MPLS system with these element by the following configuration ?

   CE---PE---PE---CE

Which routers should be treated as CE and which as PE?
Is this the minimum routers needed to setup a MPLS network?

Please give me your advice to enlighten me.

Thank you very much.
