We opted for a third alternative: Running the customers who want BGP
feeds via EoMPLS to a couple of centralized 6500s, which have all the
memory and hardware support needed for full routing tables and lots of
BGP sessions. That way we avoided the full routing tables on our PEs.

This may not be an alternative for everybody, of course.
