mpls-te-mib perf counters

Hi,

Somehow, TE-MIB perf counters on edge routers are not updated for the 
traffic carried on the mpls tunnel. Here is the example network,

C1-----PE1-------tunnel123------PE2------C2
PE routers are MPLS edge routers(cisco 7200s in our network) and tunnel123 
between PE routers carries the traffic from C1 to C2.

1st case: ping from PE1 to C2,
PE1-tunnel123-mplsTunnelPerfBytes counter is updated,
PE1-tunnel123-ifOutOctets counter(in iftable) is updated

2nd case: ping from C1 to C2,
PE1-tunnel123-mplsTunnelPerfBytes counter is NOT updated!!
PE1-tunnel123-ifOutOctets counter is updated

does anybody know the reason why the PerfBytes is not updated in 2nd case? 
am i missing something?
