if you have a service provider with Multicast over MPLS enabled network, you
don't have to manage GRE tunnel at CE.

On each PE, the provider creates a Multicast Tunnel Interface (MTI) and
Multicast VPN VRF for each customer.
The MTI encapsulates customer's Multicast packets within its own Multicast
packet with a destination group that is unique for a particular customer and
to which all PE for that customer belongs to.

So, the service provider core doesn't need to known the multicast groups of
each customer, instead, only knowns the necessary information for transport
the encapsulated multicast packets.

Asunto: [MPLS-OPS]: Support for MCAST over MPLS

I am currently researching the area of Multicast and MPLS. I am aware that
there is a need for enterprises to manage their own GRE tunnels across
service provider MPLS networks but would be grateful to anyone who could
highlight areas of work ongoing in the service provider or vendor arena,
regards direct support of Enterprise Multicast over MPLS networks (e.g. for
VoIP Music-On-Hold).
