Hi,
As Roger told you about ip cef distributed , i would like to add some comments on that.
ip cef distributed is supported with 7500 series and above.Where you might have VIP card in the router.Because dCEF is supported very well on VIP.
Again there are some issues/bugs in the Cisco IOS 12.2 / 12.3 related to CEF and dCEF.Where you might face a lot of problem in your Network.Packet might be looped between 2 router or any one may not be received the routing updates from others. In such case Router CPU load will shoot up around 90-99%.
In such case you can see the cef table but it'll not switch any packet. So you have to disable CEF/dCEF in your Router.
Regarding your 3745 router , Use ip cef in the global mode.It will not support dCEF.
Secondly.. to enable tag switching, you have to give this command on interface level. It will support.
I would like to add one more thing, before doing any analysis or R&D , just navigate the particuler IOS version's feature and it's better to have Service provider image in your Router or you can contact your vendor for the same. Therefore you can get the additional features in particular IOS.And you will aware about any issue/bug for that particular IOS Version.
Thanks & Regards,
Abhishek Mittal

These tensd to be the 7500 level and up. What you may want is simply ip cef. This would be a global command and work for the whole platform. Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
