Ethernet service last mile

Hi

say a customer is not within the reach of the provider fiber ring ,any 
standrad which define
encapsulating Ethernet frame over PDH ccts ( E1,T1 ..etc ). another case for 
speed <= 1024K,
any standard which define how Ethernet frame encapsulated over serial 
interface ,is it Ethernet encapsulation over PPP over serial interface ??? .

Appreciate to provide any relevany URL for the above subjects .
