Dear Sir, This letter might come to you as a surprise, however, there is no need to worry, as we are using the only secured and confidential medium available to seek for foreign assistance/partnership in a business transaction. What is more, the mentioned transaction will prove to be of mutual benefit to both parties involved. I am presently in the Netherlands on an official assignment. Hereby I offer you a further explanation of our bank’s situation- a foreign engineer, Mr. Anthony Stevens , a Gold Merchant contractor with Federal Government, until his death three years ago in a ghastly air crash, has banked with us here at South Africa Reserve Bank Johannesburg, a closing balance of $20.5 million (Twenty and a half million U.S. dollars). The bank unquestionably expects this sum to be claimed by any of his available foreign next of kin, or alternatively be donated to a trust fund of the African Peace Keeping Forces and the ECOMOG. All efforts have been made by the South African Reserve Bank to contact any of the Mr. Anthony Stevens family members or, indeed, the relatives, but these have proved unsuccessful. Since there exists a likeable possibility that we will not ever be able to locate any of the late engineer’s next of kin (since Mr. Stevens had no known wife and children), our bank’s management lead by the chairman board of directors, retired Dr. Chris Stals have decided to declare the fund ‘Un-claimable’, and arranged for the money to be subsequently donated to the Trust Fund for Arms and Ammunitions, which will further enhance the course of war in the West Africa sub-region and the world in general. In order to avert such negative development, myself and my colleagues in the bank, are now seeking your permission to have you stand as the Japanese engineer, Mr. Anthony Stevens next of kin or Business Partner, so that the fund of $14.5 US dollars could be subsequently transferred and paid into your bank account as the beneficiary next of kin. All necessary documents and required proves are to be provided and authenticated by our bank, as soon as you decide to enter the transaction. Your share will be 30% of the total sum. 10% will be set aside for the expenses, while the rest would be for myself, my colleagues and for investment purposes in our country. Though we are trying to make a better future for ourselves and our families, considering the poor standard of living in Africa, we also wish for you to see the proposal as our own contribution in putting and end to the senseless wars in the Africa sub-region. If you find this proposal acceptable and wish to take advantage of the trust we hope to bestow on you and your company, kindly contact me via e-mail, providing your most confidential telephone and fax number, so that I can forward to you relevant details of this transaction. Thank you in advance for your anticipated co-operation, Yours Faithfully, Chris Thompson Reply: chrisson@fsmail.net |
