Zhang,

RD is unique to the router, so PE1 and PE2 should be able to announce a single prefix, with different RD’s. Can you tell us why you need this, or possible background? Normally people use different RD when they dealing with Multipath, with RR, since RR only announces the best path, but when you use different RD’s RR will announce both,

Subject: [MPLS-OPS]: route distinguisher from multiple sites

Hi,

I have a question for using different route distinguisher

on different sites for the same prefix.  Assume that I have one address P

in customer's network. P is announced by two PEs, PE1 and PE2 using

different RDs.

Is it possible that the two PEs are in geographically far away locations,

e.g. one in SF and one in NY?

thanks a lot!

Ying
